A suspect wanted on several felony warrants led Pittsboro Police on a high-speed Chase Monday evening.

The incident began around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Osbourne Ave and Meridian St., near Pittsboro Town Hall.

Pittsboro Police Chief Scott King says the driver failed to signal at a turn. When officers checked the driver’s plates, they noticed the driver,  identified as Tyler Ray Phillips, 27, of Hendricks County, was wanted on several felony warrants in Marion County, including auto theft and resisting law enforcement.

Before the Pittsboro police could approach him, the driver took off, leading officers on a high-speed chase that hit speeds of 85-90 miles per hour.

“It went all over the place. Indianapolis, Executive Drive, I-70, Holt Road, and at 7:52 p.m. officers terminated the pursuit because it became too dangerous,” said Chief King.

The suspect remains on the run.
