Splash Island, the popular water park located at 651 Vestal Road in Plainfield, is holding a safety education seminar during its Wet Wednesday night.

Members of the Plainfield Fire Territory and Plainfield Police Department will join the water park’s trained lifeguards to educate parents about water and swimming safety. There will also be free 15-minute swim evaluations during the evening event from 7 to 10 p.m. on July 3.

Splash Island is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Wet Wednesdays.

The park hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on other days and noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

The 4 1/2-acre Caribbean-themed outdoor water park has three waterslides, a lazy river and an interactive children’s play area.

The staff includes professionally trained lifeguards.

Splash Island passes are $11 for adults or $7 if you live in Plainfield. Kids are $10 or $6 for residents. A preschool pass is $8 or $5 for residents. Children 1 and under are free. Senior citizens are $9, $6 for residents. There’s also a “just watchin” pass for $5 if you don’t plan to get wet.
