Getting lucky on St. Paddy’s Day

Getting lucky on St. Paddy’s Day

By Faith Toole

Last St. Patrick’s Day my day started off with the Lucky Clover Run in Carmel. The weather was cold and wet with rain at the start/finish line.  I did not collapse from the four mile run. I was warm and dry inside the Brockway Public House.

Our St. Paddy’s day group enjoyed breakfast and of course, green beer to savor before and during the 4 miler. I ordered the Bangers and Mash plus a Scotch Egg. With a packed crowd inside and out in the tent, service was quick. My order of bangers and mash was served piping hot with an Irish style sausage, buttery colcannon and savory Guinness gravy. The Scotch Egg was cooked to perfection. Every item was full of flavor and could have been shared but I did not.

By the way, if you ever see me running, call 911 ASAP!
