For the first time, Connection Pointe Christian Church in Brownsburg is hosting a Yuletide Festival for the community with drive-in movies and socially-distant ice skating to keep up the holiday cheer in Hendricks County.

“We want to share hope and light in a year that has felt dark and hopeless for many,” explains Jen Storey, marketing director at Connection Pointe Christian Church.

Starting Thursday, guests are invited to skate on the synthetic iceless  rink in the front parking lot of the church located at 1800 N. Green. St. in Brownsburg. It’s free to skate. Skate rental is $5 or you can bring your own. Reservations are required to keep things spaced out. https://www.connectionpointe.org/yuletide-attractions/

“The Yuletide Festival iceless ice rink offers a friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy ice skating while listening to music and socializing safely with family, friends and possibly meeting new people.”

Ice skating will be available during Yuletide Festival on Thursdays through Sundays from now until Dec. 20.

During the skate, families can also snap Instagram-worthy pictures at two outdoor faux snowglobe photo booths (constructed by church members) alongside a large Merry Christmas marquee light sign.

The large parish has also partnered with the Brownsburg Parks Department to offer drive-in movie nights Friday through Sunday where families can watch holiday classics like the “Polar Express” and “A Christmas Carol” from the comfort of their own vehicles.

“We’re partnering with Brownsburg Parks to bring these Christmas classics to the screen,” said Storey.

Connection Pointe continues to tout their message, “You are not alone” with yard signs and community outreach. Church leaders hope the Yuletide Festival will be another way to help the community navigate the challenges of 2020.

The event has been approved by the Hendricks County Health Department. All attendees must register for drive-in movies/photo booths or reserve an ice skating time slot.
