Brownsburg Town Councilman Brian Jessen is a 1992 Crown Point High School graduate. But his blood runs purple. That’s why he reached out to Crown Point Mayor David Uran to issue a friendly wager on the outcome of the game.
“What a spot to be in. My alma mater in the town I grew up in against my adopted hometown high school for the state crown,” said Jessen. “I couldn’t let this moment pass without being a part of it in some small way.”
Jessen told Uran that should Crown Point win the championship, he would send the mayor a gift basket filled with specialty items sold by Brownsburg small businesses. Uran agreed to share a similar basket of Crown Point goods “when Brownsburg wins,” said Jessen.
Uran good-naturedly accepted the challenge. “Outside the boundaries of the basketball court, two communities are supporting their respective teams with community pride,” said Uran. “I wish good luck to all the players, coaches and fans this Sunday. Go, Lady Bulldogs!”
Brian Jessen is in his 6th year as a Town Councilman for Brownsburg, representing Ward 3.
