Virtual funeral option for Brownsburg High School student Logan Trout

Family, friends, and classmates are mourning the loss of Logan Trout this week. 

The Brownsburg High School student is being remembered as a gentle soul who loved life. 

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Aug.18 at 1 p.m. at New Palestine United Methodist Church, 3565 S. 500 W., New Palestine.

Trout died on Aug. 10 after he experienced a “medical emergency” and collapsed during cross country practice, according to an email sent to parents by Brownsburg High School principal Bret Daghe.

Coaches and trainers supplied emergency care before first responders took over. Trout was taken to the hospital where he passed away, according to the email that was shared by some parents.

Trout was a junior at Brownsburg High School and an active member of the cross-country team and Brownsburg High School Choir, The Blend.

Students have shared memories online under #LoveForLoganTrout.

The choir wrote, “BHS Choir is forever grateful to have heard your voice and seen your kind heart.”

According to Trout’s obituary, he also enjoyed working in the family restaurant and cared deeply for his Wings Etc. team. He loved Jesus and was happiest when playing games with his family. Whether it was chess with dad or the latest Xbox. 

Visitation will be held today from 4-8 p.m. at New Palestine United Methodist Church, 3565 S. 500 W., New Palestine, IN 46163. Masks are required and guests are asked to practice social distancing.

The exact cause of death is still pending.
