Saint Susanna Catholic Church is grieving today as they mourn the loss of their former pastor, Fr. Kevin Morris.
Morris was killed in a car accident on Tuesday.
The church posted the following statement on Facebook Tuesday night: “We will gather on Thursday evening to pray for Fr. Kevin Morris, former pastor of Saint Susanna Church (1999-2011). Fr. Kevin was killed today in a car accident. He was well loved by the Saint Susanna community. We pray for the repose of his soul and the comfort of his family.”
Responses to this social media post came quickly with an onslaught of messages, parishioners mourning the loss of someone they loved and admired.
“The world will miss Fr. Kevin! Great man with a great sense of humor.”
“This makes me so sad. Father Kevin was well loved. Prayers for everyone.”
“So sad. He was a priest who led with his heart and a whole lot of common sense.”
“I’m heartbroken… rest in Heaven Fr. Kevin.”
Morris was the current pastor at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Richmond.
The prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. March 14 at Saint Susanna Catholic Church, 1210 E. Main St., Plainfield.
