Rob Roberts appointed new Danville fire chief

By Peg McRoy Glover

The Danville Town Council appointed interim Fire Chief Robb Roberts to the permanent position of fire chief. Town Manager Mark Morgan, and the former Danville fire chief, congratulated Roberts and presented him with the fire chief badge.

Roberts said he was honored to accept this position.

My dad was on the Danville fire department,” he said. “My brother is a former fire chief of the department. I am proud to following in their footsteps and walk on the foundation laid by previous chiefs.”

Roberts started as a part time fire fighter in 1988 and was previously the superintendent of public works. Roberts is married with four kids and is a lifetime resident of Danville.
