Plainfield Town Council sets property annexation hearings

The Plainfield Town Council met Sept. 27 for a regular council meeting. The council meets at 6 p.m. for a work session and 7 p.m. for a council meeting on the second and fourth Mondays each month at 591 Moon Road and live stream. WHAT HAPPENED: The council passed resolutions setting the date for public hearings regarding annexation of property to the town.

WHAT IT MEANS: Resolution No. 58 regards Lot 26 Medallion Meadows, 2478 Medallion Court, and Lot 27 Medallion Meadows, 10047 Medallion Drive. Resolution No. 59 regards Friendswood East Phase II, containing approximately 100.328 acres. Resolution 60 regards Lambert Avalon North Phase 2 at the northwest corner of Gibbs and Vestal roads, approximately 8.72 acres. Resolution No. 61 regards Vanbibber Property at 5311 Gibbs Road. Resolution 62 regards Willman’s Lake, second section at the southwest corner of Willman Drive. Resolution 63 regards Charter Oaks at the northeast corner of Claren Drive and Oakmont Court East. Public hearings will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Plainfield Fire Territory Headquarters, 591 Moon Road.

 

WHAT HAPPENED: The council approved a resolution adopting the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan: Pedestrian Network 2021 update. 

WHAT IT MEANS: The resolution states that the town remains committed to the ADA and elimination of barriers to public facilities. The town approved the update to its plan, which identifies prioritization of sidewalks, ramps and combination projects, an inventory of signalized crossing conditions, prioritization of needs and methods to be used to eliminate deficiencies.
