Plainfield man involved in hit-and-run accident may have died from other causes

A 20-year-old Plainfield man who died after deputies say he was struck by a car in Avon may have died of other causes, according to investigators
According to Capt. Amanda Goings with the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office, Emanuel Walker Jr. died after the incident and the injuries sustained from the crash were not believed to be life-threatening.
  “The final determination on his cause and manner of death is pending the conclusion of investigation by the coroner’s office,” said Capt. Goings.
The crash happened early Thursday, Jan. 23  on County Road 100 South near County Road 625 East.
Investigators say Walker was standing close to the road’s edge when he was hit.
He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Investigators are looking for a damaged Silver Saturn. The vehicle may be missing a passenger side mirror.

Walker’s family is heartbroken and has started a GoFundMe page, raising more than $3,000 so far to help pay for funeral expenses.

“My nephew was killed in a hit and run incident on January 23, 2020. His so-called friends left him to die. My sister is really going through it and she doesn’t have the money to bury her son. If you can help in any way, It would be greatly appreciated.
