Paper crafts and stamps inspire crafters in Danville

The Indianapolis Rubber Stamp and Paper Arts Festival will take place this weekend at the Hendricks County F4-Fairgrounds and Conference Complex. It appeals to not only the experienced crafter and scrapbooker, but also people who are looking to fill up another chilly March weekend.

The event has everything from art stamps and card making to paper crafts and scrapbook tips. There will be classes, free demos and things visitors can make and take home. Organizers tell first-time attendees to wear comfortable shoes and take pictures. There are plenty of ideas to absorb.

Heirloom Productions is behind the event. The paper crafts and rubber stamp company is the brainchild of husband and wife team, Pat and Eileen Larson. They first debuted the growing festival in 1993 in California.

Eileen Larson died in 2008 after battling breast cancer, but Heirloom Productions continues to put on paper craft festivals throughout the country.

The festival in Danville runs March 22-23 starting at 10 a.m.

Tickets are $12 at the door.
