New Lizton Recycling Center Opening April 26th!

  • The Hendricks County Recycling District is very excited to announce that its new Lizton Recycling Center will be opening Wednesday, April 26th. The new facility is located at 8976 N. State Road 39 and will replace the Recycling Drop-off Center the Recycling District has provided near the corner of US 136 and State Road 39 for over twenty years.

Unlike the current recycling center, the new facility will not be available 24/7. This change will help ensure that only recyclable items are left at the center and limit the misuse experienced at the current location.

The new center will be open:Tuesday 9 a.m.– 6 p.m.

Wednesday 1 p.m– 7 p.m.

Thursday 9 a.m.– 6 p.m.

Saturday 9 a.m.– 3 p.m.

*Closed on major holidays*

No materials may be left at the center when it is closed. A video surveillance system will monitor the facility around the clock.

The new Lizton Recycling Center will be accepting the following items:

Corrugated Cardboard

Glass Bottles & Jars

Plastic Bottles, Jugs & Tubs

Milk, Juice & Wine Cartons

Newspaper, Office Paper

Paperboard Boxes

Metal Cans & Tins

Magazines, Softback Books

Junk Mail

An attendant will be on-site when the center is open to help users understand what can and cannot be recycled. More detailed information about what will be accepted and how materials will need to be separated is available at RecycleHC.org.

The public and media are invited to a Ribbon Cutting to launch the new recycling center on Wednesday, April 26that 11 AM.

“The new recycling center is going to be a significant improvement for residents that recycle, the community where the center is located, and the recycling companies that will ultimately receive the material collected there. These upgrades reflect the District’s commitment to recycling in Hendricks County. I appreciate the leadership and support of the Recycling District’s Board of Directors as we’ve poured a lot of effort into making this leap. Exciting days are ahead!”
