17-year-old shot in Brownsburg neighborhood has died from injuries; police look for suspect’s vehicle

Investigators are sharing photos of the suspect’s vehicle and are asking anyone with information to give them a call. The vehicle is described as a black, four-door car.

The Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that has taken the life of a 17-year-old from Brownsburg. 

It happened yesterday (Tuesday) around 3 p.m. in the 10200 block of Haag Road, located in the Branches subdivision near East County Road 650. 

Deputies were called to the area for a report of shots fired. 

According to Captain Amanda Goings, two people were inside a parked red Jeep located on the north side of Haag Road when another black four-door vehicle approached and opened fire and then took off. 

A 17-year-old juvenile in the Jeep was shot and taken to an Indianapolis hospital with serious injuries. According to Capt. Goings, he later died of the injuries. The victim was from Brownsburg. 

The other person in the Jeep was not injured. 

According to the report, one nearby home was reportedly struck by bullets but no other injuries were reported. 

Investigators are sharing photos of the suspect’s vehicle and are asking anyone with information to give them a call. The vehicle is described as a black, four-door car. 

“Detectives are continuing to follow up on leads and tips that are coming in for this investigation,” said Captain Goings. If anyone has any information,  they should contact our dispatch center at 317-839-8700 or dial 911. 

Another option for viewers is to send an anonymous tip to detectives through the “Hendricks County Sheriff” App.
