Many Hoosiers at higher risk of getting COVID-19 want to receive a vaccine but may not have access to convenient transportation to an appointment. IU Health is giving free ride services to anyone in Indiana. Appointments do not need to be at an IU Health vaccine clinic.
How it works:
Call (888) 484-3258 and choose option 9 between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.- noon Saturday. Interpreters are available.
Callers will be asked if they have insurance in case their insurance provider covers the cost of transportation. For those with no insurance or if the plan doesn’t cover transportation, an IU
Health team member will coordinate a ride based on the caller’s scheduled appointment
and location.
IU Health is partnering with Lyft and other transportation providers to facilitate most of these free rides.
IU Health was awarded a grant from Anthem to support this effort.
