Celebration to open Penguin Park at Washington Township Park, Saturday, Nov. 30, 4:00pm – 8:00pm. Enjoy the opening of the skating rink with Silly Safari Elf & Reindeer Show, Food Truck & Concessions, Santa’s Village, Inflatable Snow Globe and Santa & Mrs. Claus with their elf. Registration not required.
Event director Melissa Thompson is looking forward to another season of memories at Washington Township Park.
“The first three Saturdays in December Santa will be visiting with the children and getting their Christmas wish lists,” Thompson said. “Santa’s Village will have craft markets and food vendors.”
The park features a special attraction each Saturday: Dec. 7 Silly Safari Elf & Reindeer Show, Dec. 14 free carriage rides and Polar Express Train Dec. 21.
Friday nights are adults only skate with a live band. Indy Beers Taps will set up in a heated igloo.
Guests can rent igloos and for an additional fee have a birthday package, Thompson said. Penguin Park will be open till mid February.
“Pre-purchase skate tickets online to avoid the line.” Thompson said.
Special programs and events on Tuesday and Thursday evenings as well as each weekend. Birthday party packages available on Saturday’s.
Skating Admission Wristbands, $8.00 admission per person. Skates included. Waiver required for each skater. Spectators and children 3 and under are FREE.
Igloo rentals available on weekends only.
Concessions open during operating hours.
