Bryce Culverhouse from Brownsburg has plenty to celebrate this month.
He has been designated Indiana Artisan, a top honor program among Hoosier artists.
Culverhouse was selected by a panel of business development, retail, arts, and culinary professionals for his extraordinary digital typography work.
“I’ve combined my passion for history and visual art. I have created specific history or biography lessons that both communicate information about the subject as well as an interesting concept to visualizing the subject, ” Culverhouse said.
He is among 212 visual and food artists in 55 counties whose work carries the prestigious Indiana Artisan designation.
Culverhouse developed a strong interest in typography while attending Kendall College of Art and Design.
After a career as a graphic designer and art director, he started a new style of art based solely on letter forms that create images.
His work can be viewed at the Indiana Artisan Galleries in the historic Carmel Arts District in Carmel and also between the hotel and casino in French Lick.
Culverhouse also has solo shows scheduled at multiple locations, including the Plainfield-Guilford
Township Public Library in 2020.

Former Lt. Governor Becky Skillman created the 11-year-old Indiana Artisan program to promote fine and handcrafted art as well as value-added food products made in Indiana.
