Avon man dies in apparent Brownsburg robbery

At approximately 5:23 p.m., May 3, Brownsburg police responded to the area of 905 North Green Street, the new Kroger construction area, in reference to a person shot.  Upon arrival, Officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  The victim was transported to Hendricks Regional Hospital in Brownsburg where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim, has been identified as 20-year-old Emanuel L. Fonville, of Avon.
Brownsburg detectives and crime scene investigators worked diligently through the night and into this morning to process evidence and identify any witnesses.  Detectives continue to investigate all leads and evidence as it presents.
Per witnesses, and other recovered items of evidence, detectives have confirmed that the victim, and another female victim, who was unharmed in the commission of the crime, were robbed by two black males, who ultimately fled the area in a silver 4-door vehicle, after firing a firearm and striking Fonville. This location of the shooting (parking lot of Kroger new construction) was chosen for a meeting location by Fonville for a transaction.
Preliminary investigative findings suggest that this was an isolated incident between the decedent and the suspects.
