The Indiana Department of Education announced that Avon Intermediate School West (AIS-West) was approved to receive science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) certification. AIS-West will be one of 60 STEM Certified Schools in Indiana and the only one in Hendricks County. Schools are chosen based on their commitment to teaching these subjects.
