Sheriff’s office said an adult in Hendricks County was accidentally shot by a child

An adult in Hendricks County was taken to the hospital this morning after being accidentally shot by a child, according to Captain Amanda Goings with the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office confirmed the shooting happened around 9 a.m. in the 6000 block of West U.S. 36, near the Putnam County line.

Police say the adult was in serious condition and was taken to an Indianapolis hospital.

Investigators are working on releasing more details on what happened.
